God is sovereign regarding whom He saved. And He is also sovereign regarding when He would save them. We could add that He is sovereign in the matter of 'how' He saved them---exclusively through the hearing of the Word of God the Bible. Additionally, God is sovereign concerning 'where' He would do the saving. Within the nation of Israel for a time. Then within the N.T. churches for a time. Finally, for a time (a little season) outside of the churches and congregations during the latter rain period.
Each and every time the sovereign Lord makes a decree that involves His salvation program, whether it be whom, when, where, or how--He saved His elect people---there are always those that rise up against the Lord's sovereign decree and cry, "Not fair". Many charge it is not right for God to only save certain ones (whom). And still others accuse God of injustice for saving in certain places and not saving in others (where). Likewise some claim its wrong to say God only saves through the hearing of the Bible. They say that God is not limited in saving solely by His Word (how). And now we have the loudest cry of wrongdoing raised up to the heavens---its cold hearted and wrong to say that God has stopped saving people on the date of May 21, 2011 (when).
Oh the arrogance of man knows no boundaries when it comes to making false accusations against the righteous judgment program of God. Certainly God, who knows the end from the beginning always knew the false accusations of rebels that would not humble themselves under His mighty hand, but would instead label the doctrines of the Lord's righteous judgment plan, graciously opened up to His people at the time of the end, as unjust and even evil. Yet, again and again God emphasizes in His Word that His judgment is a righteous judgment. A proper and holy judgment that is according to His law.
Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD;
2 Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is A RIGHTEOUS THING with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
And this judgment will be carried out by His saints (the elect):
Psalm 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
