It says in Revelation 19:6:
Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
He reigns. There is that wonderful music we hear at Christmas time called Handel’s “Messiah,” and it is taken right from the Bible, and it is very appropriate for our time. When you listen to Handel’s “Messiah,” think of it as glorifying the Messiah as Judge when He comes to reign over the nations of the world.
After telling us that “the Lord GOD omnipotent reigneth,” it tells us in Revelation 19:7:
Revelation 19:7 … and his wife hath made herself ready.
And the only way the “wife,” the “bride” of Christ could be ready is if she is complete – all that were to be saved have been saved. And that is why the chapter goes on to describe the final judgment of mankind. We read of Christ:
Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
He is going to smite the nations and rule them with a rod of iron. When we put together these other statements we are seeing in the Bible, we can see that there is a plan and there is a period of time, “the time of the dead, that they should be judged,” wherein the Lord Jesus Christ will rule the nations.
