Excerpt from a discussion with a man who holds to the doctrine of eternal hell:
Your idea of judgment has endless suffering without hope of salvation. The Bible's actual plan has mankind operating as usual for all intents and purposes ignorant of any judgment upon them for about 22 years and then comes the end. Yet, you dare to imply to me that the doctrine of the end I hold to is somehow unjust and severe? What is 22 years of no salvation and spiritual judgment in comparison to an eternity of horrible suffering and no salvation forevermore? You need to ask yourself about the type of doctrine the churches have erected in their teaching of NO SALVATION FOR ETERNITY and the type of god that would relish such cruelty. The God of the Bible is a very kind and gentle God. And His goodness can be seen even as He pours out His wrath upon the rebellious sinners of the world. A spiritual wrath and a shut door in which none are saved, yes, but there is only no salvation available for 22/23 years. Not forever and ever.
