The hypocritical thing about those that condemn Mr. Camping for what they perceive to be his error in setting a date, is that those critics themselves prophesy many, many things falsely (that is they declare the Word of God on many points of doctrine falsely). In fact, their errors are so numerous and so major that for the most part they bring other kinds of gospels.
It’s telling when people who speak in tongues, believe the 7th day is the Sabbath, or believe Jesus isn't God, or believe in the supremacy of the church over the Word of God, or believe that a sinner can get saved by performing the work of accepting Christ, etc, etc, etc---it’s telling when all these people band together with one voice in condemnation against a man like Mr. Camping. Of course they condemn him. They despise him for speaking the truth (i.e. prophesying or declaring the Word of God) against them for many years. Their condemnation of Mr. Camping, a faithful man of God, for false prophesy is about as incredulous as anything can be. It would be like the 450 prophets of Baal concluding that Elijah the prophet was a false prophet. Of course that would be their conclusion. Yet the conclusion of false prophets, no matter how numerous their numbers is a worthless conclusion as it must involve a judgment of prophesy itself which they have proven themselves to be incapable of.
We would expect a blind and apostate church, a church given up by God to Satan for its destruction (which has been carried out) to draw a blind and ignorant conclusion that a truly faithful man of God like Mr. Camping was a false prophet (the one man among them that happened to declare the Word of God faithfully). That's to be expected.
But what is astounding is that so many so called "true believers" would be persuaded by the masses of baal worshippers (those that populate the corporate churches today) and go along with their conclusions.
Yes, practically all people in the churches and many people in the world have labeled Mr. Camping a false prophet. Which points to only one thing---the total opposite.
Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
